Results vary from person to person, and some people see little change. Nothing on this page is a promise of an outcome, and the Contour Consult may end in a no.
How it works
A laser finds the pigment in hair and heats the follicle. Tanned skin has more pigment too, which is how burns and dark or light spots happen. In Phoenix and Scottsdale that means planning: start in autumn, finish by spring, and pause any area that has seen sun in the last two weeks. Rosa keeps a sun calendar for every plan.
The FDA clears these lasers for "permanent hair reduction", which means long-term reduction in the number of hairs, not every hair gone forever. Most people need six sessions and a touch-up once or twice a year. We say so at the Contour Consult.

Medical Director
Elena is a physician who founded Amberlune in 2020 after years of seeing patients oversold on body treatments. She writes every protocol, reviews every plan, and is on site three days a week and on call between.
Illustrative stories. Amberlune is a fictional clinic; these are written examples, not patient reviews.
Six sessions between November and April. By pool season I had stopped shaving my legs, and Rosa told me to expect a touch-up next winter.
She checked my arms for sun before every session and moved one when I had been at the lake. That is the whole reason I had no marks.
It is long-term hair reduction. The FDA clearance wording is "permanent hair reduction", which means fewer hairs over the long term, not none. Most people book a touch-up once or twice a year.
A quick snap, like a rubber band, with cooling. Small areas take minutes.
Covered areas, sometimes. Tanned or sun-exposed areas wait. The desert sun guide explains the calendar.

Usually six, four to eight weeks apart depending on the area. Results vary.
